Liberate yourself from national identity - Scotland 
          As a way of initiating this process of liberation from national identity, I burnt the national flag of Scotland, as a public performance on the opening evening of the exhibition. The burning of the Union Jack was not a genuine option as I do not identify the Union Jack with my national identity, even though Scotland is a part of the UK and not a fully independent nation in itself. The work was documented on video and became part of a DVD package produced by Association Pollen.   |
